IT ALL STARTED ON JUNE 7TH, 1965...

When Roy Smith Rushing opened his doors to the public, all he had to his name was a rickety old sewing machine, a box of shoe polish, shine brushes, thread, and the willingness to work to make a living.  His family remained in New Orleans while he basically lived in his store, slowly accumulating the means to provide for them.  One stitch at a time he did just that, putting everything above what he needed to live right back into the business.  Now, over 50 years later, we get to reap the rewards of his sacrifice.  With the largest inventory of boots, shoes, clothing, hunting wear, and workwear for miles around, it's hard to fathom how far the business has come.  We promise to never forget where we came from though, and to always provide the kind of care and attention befitting our status as one of the oldest businesses in the Ferriday/Vidalia area.
